Brilliant for Young Footballers
My son was 12 when he attended
the Soccer Showcase Elite Academy and one of the youngest in his group. While I
was initially sceptical about the course and not overly keen on parting with my
hard-earned money, it turned out to be one of the best things I could have
done.
At the end of the academy, my son
and I were approached by representatives from Brentford and he is now a part of
their youth set-up. I’m not sure how else such an opportunity would have presented
itself.
If you’re a parent of a promising
young footballer I would definitely recommend enrolling your kids on this
course. Not only does it benefit them footballing wise in terms of enhancing
their abilities and giving them a taste of professional training, it helps them
socially and gives them confidence.
A few words of warning though –
only enrol your children in the academy if they
are serious about football – not just you. Kids need to possess a certain
amount of talent in order to truly benefit from the course, but they also need
to love and enjoy the game. A good level of physical fitness is also required
as training can get quite intense.
